David Hammond CEO
It’s almost impossible not to be impressed with David Hammond’s 30 years of success. From being a member of the 1987 Americas Cup Team (Stars and Stripes), that won back sailing’s most prestigious race from the Australians, to contributing to the stunning growth of a small New Jersey facilities services company to a $60 million corporation with 2,500+ employees in 16 states, like Midas, whatever David seems to touch turns to gold. But David will tell you that success is all about teamwork. “The cliché that there’s no “I” in team is more than a cliché to me,” David says. “High achievement and industry leadership is about teamwork - recruiting, training, and empowering top performing teams that deliver extraordinary results.”
In addition to spending two years with Dennis Conner and a 40-member team preparing to win back America’s Cup, David served in the United States Navy for six years in the Submarine Service. He then went to work for Hewlett Packard as Regional Service Manager and, after five years with HP, became Executive Vice President of CSI International, Inc. CSI International, Inc. is a family-owned company that provides building operations, maintenance, and facilities services to corporate, commercial, and educational clients. Under his leadership and vision, he created a team of top professionals that collaboratively grew the company from a $4 million local enterprise to a national industry leader.
In 2003, David relocated to Fort Lauderdale to open the Florida market and, in just 11 years, the company has grown from $0 to more than $20 million. In 2006, he expanded the company to include property management services (CSI Management Services, LLC), and was named COO of CSI International, Inc. in 2007. And in 2011, David and his team founded Horizon Publishing and South Florida Opulence Magazine.
“It’s our constant pursuit of team excellence that has led to our success,” David says. “We work hard. We are never satisfied. And we are always seeking better ways to serve our clients. We are committed to personalized service, social responsibility to the environment, and the appreciation of our employees.
Opulence Interactional Realty was launched in 2013 in Miami to serve the upscale market. The company’s success was immediate. Understanding that sellers and buyers of high-end luxury real estate require a special standard of quality service, the expansion into the Palm Beaches was inevitable.
“We offer a revolutionary model of success, where the foundation is based on a team approach to provide concierge-style customer excellence,” David says. “In addition, our global technology capability is remarkable; able to reach more than 500 of the top real estate websites worldwide. And we are expanding our Sports & Entertainment Division (servicing athletes and entertainers) and provide local sellers and national and international buyers with unprecedented levels of services. “
David served as an elected officer for the Town Council of Keyport, NJ for 6 years. He is a past president and current board member of the Boca Ballet Theater, and sits on the Board of Directors for South Florida Manufactures Association and Florida Gold Coast Swimming. David is married (26 years) and has two children; one attending the University of Arizona who is a dance professional and the other attends the University Missouri and is a nationally ranked swimmer. David’s hobbies include sailing, snow skiing, stand up paddleboarding, and community and family activities.
